GURNAM SINGH MALHI 1900 - 2002 On Monday, July 8, 2002, Dr. Gurnam Singh Malhi passed away and left behind members of his family, sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters and many friends. He served in the Indian Army Medical Corp. during the Second Great War. From 1939 to 1943, he was posted as a pathologist in one of the largest army transit hospitals in Cairo, Egypt. During 1943 to 1944, he headed the anti-malaria unit at the Burma front. After leaving the Army from 1953 to 1976, he had a successful medical practice at Garhshankar, India. In 1976, he moved to Canada and since then stayed with members of his family in Winnipeg. A private cremation service took place on Saturday, July 13, in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., followed by Bhog of Sidaran Path on Wednesday, July 17. The proceeds were donated to Victoria General Hospital in memory of Dr. Gurnam Singh Malhi. The family expresses their thanks to Dr. N. Jain, Dr. M.
